Hanukkah is perhaps the favorite holiday of children. It is a time for celebration and song, candles, latkes, and gelt. It is a holiday filled with a sense of awe as we celebrate Maccabees and miracles. We invite Jewish educators to build upon traditional Hanukkah celebrations and rituals, and to incorporate some of the following programs into Hanukkah classes, parties, and gatherings. These programs make energy conservation cool and fun, and provide a Jewish framework for teaching about energy and global climate change.
