Caring for the Cycle of Life:

Your Life-Cycle Ceremony

Taken from "Caring for the Cycle of Life"
How can you bring a message of environmental caring to the celebration of your newborn, your passage into adult Jewish life, or your commitment to a life-partner and the creation of a new home? Celebrations are about the cycles of your life and your personal relationships. They are perfect opportunities to speak about the importance of caring for our life-giving Earth and to publicly affirm your own commitments to guarding the Earth. You'll probably find that many people attending your celebration share your concerns. By incorporating a message of environmental caring into your ceremony, you can education people and help them to feel comfortable publicly demonstrating care for the Earth. Don't underestimate the potential value of your words and actions to others.

Here are some suggestions specific to various life-cycle occasions. Share these with others who will be involved in your event, including family members, rabbis, and cantors.
