GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE CAMPAIGNS: A Reflection Last week I attended a Climate Crisis Town Hall gathering in New York City sponsored by Wired magazine. Former Vice-President Al Gore, on the heels of the premiere of his film AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH, was joined by other panelists including Dr. James Hansen, head of the NASA Institute for Space Studies in New York City. Two statements they made resonated deeply with me. Al Gore expressed that the way to truly address global warming and climate change is to have an “informed citizenry.” It has always been our goal at COEJL to help you feel connected and informed so that you can better engage in Earth stewardship from a unique Jewish perspective. The other phrase that struck me was when Dr. Hansen of NASA was talking about the kind of world we are leaving our children and future generations. He said, “It’s not their fault.” (Yet, they will have to bear the brunt of the environmental devastation we are leaving behind.) The tagline under the COEJL logo is: Protecting Creation from Generation to Generation. L’ Dor v’ Dor. Again, we hope that the resources we provide help to educate and empower you to share our message and mission for now and future generations. More about An Inconvenient Truth
