To address the critical global challenges of climate change and energy dependence, it is time for the Jewish community to unite in support of sustainable energy policies that reflect our Jewish interests and values, to make a meaningful impact at the state and national levels and beyond.
As part of COEJL and Jewcology’s Year of Engagement, you will have the opportunity to get to know your elected representatives, engage your community to advocate for meaningful environmental change, learn about key opportunities to make a difference, and act at the critical moment.

Campaign #1: Wish your Representatives a Happy Tu Bishvat!
On Tu Bishvat, many Jewish communities get together for seders and learn about environmentalism. For our first Year of Engagement campaign this year, we encourage you to send a letter to your representative to wish them a Happy Tu Bishvat and explain why you support sustainable climate and energy policies.
These resources will help you turn Tu Bishvat into a policy engagement opportunity:
- Activity instructions
- A template letter for your elected representatives
- An example letter to show you what it will look like, and
- Talking points to help you engage your community.
Thank you to Doug Legum for his generous support of the Year of Engagement.
