New Partner in JGEN Project:
Israel Union for Environmental Defense

As a co-founder of the Jewish Global Environmental Network (JGEN), COEJL is now partnering with the Israel Union for Environmental Defense (IUED). The work focuses on two new projects to protect Israel’s fragile land and its citizens: a collaboration between Israeli experts and their North American Jewish colleagues to advance legal protection for the environment; and a campaign to pass an Israeli Clean Air Act.

JGEN is partnering with the IUED, known in Hebrew as “Adam, Tevah V’Din,” on two new projects to protect Israel’s fragile land and its citizens: “Jewish Environmental Lawyers for Israel,” a collaboration between Israeli experts and their North American Jewish colleagues to advance legal protection for the environment, and a campaign to pass an Israeli Clean Air Act modeled after the American law. JGEN is also supporting IUED’s “smart energy” project, promoting energy conservation and efficiency, as well as efforts to preserve open space in the Haifa area.
