Dr. Jeremy Benstein serves as the educational director of the Abraham Joshua Heschel Center for Environmental Learning and Leadership, a non-profit educational foundation in Israel dedicated to promoting a vision and program of sustainability for Israeli society. Dr. Benstein has published numerous articles on Judaism and the environment. He has recently finished his doctorate at The Hebrew University in environmental anthropology, on joint Israeli Jewish-Israeli Palestinian environmental initiatives, and the environment as a basis for shared citizenship.
