An outdoor and environmental educator for many years, Rabbi Loevinger completed his rabbinical degree at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles. He holds a Master's degree in Environmental Studies from York University, in which he combined Jewish studies, ecology, environmental ethics, and education studies in a self-directed program. He has taught in settings across the Jewish denominational spectrum, and created curricula on Judaism and environmental concerns. He has published articles on the topic of Judaism and environmental thought, and serves on the national Board of COEJL.
