ACTION ALERT ARCHIVE COEJL ACTION ALERT: GET OUT THE VOTE! "A Ruler is not to be appointed unless the community is first consulted." In a little more than two weeks, Americans will make a crucial decision about who will lead our country during the next four years. While the Presidential election looms largest on the national stage, there are also Congressional, state and local elections whose outcome will determine policy directions on many issues. There is no more important task or greater responsibility than exercising your Constitutional right to vote. For more information, see the Jewish Voter Guide prepared by the Commission on Social Action of Reform Judaism and the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism. The election results will greatly affect how the U.S. government influences our natural environment. Not only is the environment on the agenda, but so are many social and political issues that we care deeply about. Domestic and foreign policy, fiscal policy and international diplomacy, all hang in the balance of this election. Perhaps most importantly, the winner of the 2004 Presidential election is likely to appoint at least one Supreme Court Justice.
