Canfei Nesharim ("On the Wings of Eagles") Educates the Orthodox Community about the Environment

January 14, 2003 - Canfei Nesharim ("On the Wings of Eagles") is a new committee of Orthodox Jews from around the world who have come together to educate the Orthodox community about the ideas, inherent in halacha, which today can be labeled as 'environmental' in nature. Canfei Nesharim is coordinating with Orthodox Jews from all around the United States, Canada, and Israel. In the coming months, the group will develop a web site and publications as part of a broad movement to educate the Orthodox community about the importance and relevance of environmental issues. As its first formal activity, the group coordinated and developed a number of activities for Tu B'Shevat 5763.
