Annual Reverse Tashlich Event (September 12)
At the start of each Jewish new year, many Jews partake in the ritual Tashlich: a symbolic throwing our sins into the water. Tikkun HaYam has flipped that symbolism, and created "Reverse Tashlich." As a way of removing out sins from the water, we clean up trash from beaches and other bodies of water.
The concept of Reverse Tashlich is also rooted in the commandment of Baal Tashchit: do not destroy. Cleaning up beaches is a way of caring for our natural environment and counteracting destruction and pollutionof water.

Over 100 Jewish groups around the world will clean up beaches. Join Tikkun HaYam's mission to unite Jews worldwide on a day of water cleanup!

Think how many more beaches we can clean by recruiting individuals from around the globe! We want YOU to be a part of our team and our effort.
